Water

It was a sunny day, with the sun above,
the clouds had just departed.
The rain left puddles on the ground,
so the jumping I had started.

Splashes going left and right,
my shoes were really wet.
But with the temperature of the air
my heart was truly set

On splashing all the water out
of those indents in the ground
I jumped and jumped and jumped and jumped
and this is what I found.

The water making all those puddles
just kept on coming back
I jumped some more but even so
It just kept coming back

The sun was moving 'cross the sky
but hardly did I move
the water I must get away
but there was something it had to prove

As the water came back another time
it grew higher in the air
a mouth appeared and it said to me
this jumping just isn't fair

I fell down from the sky above
and now I wait to be
with my family in the clouds
but you keep jumping on me

I tried to wait for you to stop
but you just kept on going
so now its my turn to do the jumping
and maybe you'll be flowing

back to this spot with every jump
that would be kind of funny
to see the same happen to you
Oh look, its the easter bunny.

I turned my head and when I did
I was pushed down to the ground
the water jumped into the air
and started coming down

I screamed and kicked and then awoke
I was safe at home in bed
This water monster was not real
it was all just in my head

I tried to sleep some more that night
but I never closed an eye
for a glass of water was near my bed
and it wanted me to die.
